Work in an ecosystem of open innovation

Be part of the WeXelerate Ecosystem and get a final ticket for the next WeXelerate Batch and work at the startup & innovation hub with an unique and thriving ecosystem of open innovation.

Budget for Proof of Concept. The program is equity free. After the Innovation Camp the Jury will select the top Start-ups for the Acceleration Phase and we will discuss individual cooperation contracts with you.

We are very proud! These are the winners of the Wien Energie Innovation-Challenge 2017:

BotTina the ready to assist chatbot, Maintenance 4.0 – AR/Hololens for the power plant, as well as the project Smart Drone Inspection.
Since then, all projects have been in progress or are already in full swing and will continue to be pushed forward in 2018.

Frequently Asked Questions

We aim high at being focused on building relationships with our clients and community.

You submit your application via the Pioneers application tool. The information you submit during the application will be processed and saved on the Pioneers platform.
The application process begins by filling out an online form, which will be available for about one month (until 15th of July). In this form you will be answering questions about your start-up, your team, your business model and the market you are active in.
Yes, of course. Please specify any information on past financing rounds and shareholding structures in your application form.
Your application should contain as much information as needed for outsiders to comprehend your business model and market opportunities. The decision if your start-up is chosen for the Innovation-Challenge will be made on the basis of the information in your application form.
The Innovation-Challenge aims to collaboratively identify and build new dimensions on the market. The primary language will be German but you can also present in English.
After the Innovation Camp we will discuss an individual cooperation contract with you.
The acceleration phase will take place for 3 months. Start-ups don’t necessarily need to be in Vienna but should at least invest 2 days/week. The aim is to build a prototype and/or prepare the project for a successful cooperation/launch. Budget for first prototypes and pilot projects might be provided.
There will be meetings on your progress every two weeks – either remote or directly on-site.
Travel and accommodation (hotel & flight for 2 Persons) expenses for the Innovation Camp, the Local Midterm Checkpoint of the Acceleration Phase and the Demo Day in Vienna are covered by Wien Energie.
Reasonable accommodation costs will be reimbursed.
You will be required to sign a short non-disclosure agreement to participate at the camp. Some of the information likely to be shared may be sensitive, because it is related to the energy sector.
After the Jury has selected the best teams of the Innovation Camp, the Acceleration Phase will start and we will discuss individual cooperation contracts with you.
